One Killed in Fiery Crash in Hacienda Heights
HACIENDA HEIGHTS, Calif. (March 4, 2021) – A Hacienda Heights fatal crash involving multiple vehicles happened Thursday on the eastbound Pomona (60) Freeway.
One of the vehicles involved in the Hacienda Heights crash caught on fire, according to the California Highway Patrol. Also, the flames were coming from its engine, police said.
The multi-vehicle crash occurred about 5:35 a.m. near Hacienda Boulevard, the CHP said. The Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to help those who were hurt.
Meanwhile, the identity of the person who died was not released. Additionally, the Los Angeles County Sheriff Coroner will release the name of the person after notifying their next of kin.
Also, the vehicles were blocking the carpool lane and Nos. 1, 2 and 3 lanes of the freeway, the CHP said.
Investigators are reviewing the facts and will determine cause and liability.
