Woman, 29, Killed in Hanford Crash at 6th Avenue and Excelsior Avenue
HANFORD, CA (July 10, 2021) – A passenger was killed after a car crash at 6th Avenue and Excelsior Avenue in Hanford.
According to the ABC 30 News and Your Central Valley, the tragic accident took place late Saturday morning. Officers reported the wreck at around 11:30 a.m.
The incident began when the driver of a 2018 Dodge Ram ran a stop sign for an unknown reason in Hanford. In the process, the pickup truck slammed into a 2013 Toyota Camry.
Driver Runs Stop Sign, Hits Another Car
The California Highway Patrol said the two cars crashed at the intersection of 6th Avenue and Excelsior Avenue. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene.
Medical personnel confirmed that a passenger in the Toyota, a 29-year-old Kingsburg woman, died as a result of the collision. Her name remains unreleased pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, CHP forced the area of 6th Avenue and Excelsior Avenue to shut down for hours following the wreck. The fatal Hanford crash is still under investigation.
