2 Men Killed in Hanford Crash at Kansas Avenue and 11th Avenue

HANFORD, CA (May 3, 2021) – A car crash near Kansas Avenue and 11th Avenue killed two people south of Hanford.

According to an article published by the Kern Golden Empire, the tragic accident occurred last week on Friday evening. Officers reported the wreck on April 30 at around 6:52 p.m.

The incident happened when a 2010 Chevrolet was traveling at a high rate of speed east on Kansas Avenue near 11th Avenue in Hanford. At the same time, a 2008 Toyota was going west on Kansas.

The California Highway Patrol said the the driver of the Chevy, a 29-year-old Tulare man, entered the westbound lane for an unknown reason. He went directly into the path of the Toyota.

Speed, DUI Factors in Car Collision

In the process, the 64-year-old Wasco man driving the Toyota collided with the left front-end of the Chevrolet. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon responded to the scene.

CHP confirmed that both motorists died as a result of the collision. Their names have not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.

Meanwhile, officials believed that alcohol or drugs played a role in the wreck. They forced the area of Kansas and 11th avenues to shut down for a time to close following the collision.

The fatal Hanford crash is still under investigation.
