Driver Killed, 2 Hurt in Multi-Vehicle Collision Near Flint Avenue
Hanford, CA (October 18, 2022) – One person died following a traffic accident that occurred on Highway 43 near Flint Avenue early Monday, the Fresno Bee News reported.
Our sources indicated 24-year-old Uliezer De Jesus was behind the wheel of a Volkswagen Jetta heading south on SR-43. For reasons still unclear, De Jesus allowed the Jetta to careen into the northbound side of the highway. Preliminary investigation revealed the Volkswagen veered into the path of a northbound Hyundai driven by 23-year-old Oscar Escalera.
According to the article published online, Escalera swerved right in an attempt to avoid collision with De Jesus. Unfortunately, the driver of a Chevrolet traveling behind the Hyundai was not able to maneuver and ended up crashing head-on into the Jetta.
The force from the impact caused the Jetta to spin uncontrollably. Officials said the Jetta came to a stop after colliding with a Volkswagen Passat. Per local news source, the driver of the Passat suffered serious injuries as a result of the accident. Responding paramedics rendered first aid to the driver of the Passat; then transported him to a hospital for further treatment. The 49-year-old man later sadly succumbed to his injuries and passed away. Pending confirmation and notification of next of kin, the identity of the deceased remained undisclosed.
Authorities added a passenger in the Jetta, 19-year-old Abisua Princiliano, sustained minor injuries in the crash. Meanwhile, the Escalera and the driver of the Chevrolet, 18-year-old Jose Santos Corona both appeared unharmed after the wreck.
Unlicensed Driver Arrested After Deadly Crash on Highway 43 in Hanford
Police later arrested Uliezer De Jesus after they discovered the man was driving without a license.
Further investigation is ongoing on the deadly crash that happened on Highway 43 in Hanford.
