1 Injured in Suspected DUI Boat Collision on Colorado River
SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY, Calif. (April 23, 2020) — Hannah Scott, 21, of Huntington Beach, was injured Sunday afternoon in a suspected DUI boating collision on the Colorado River near the Parker Strip near the Echo Lodge Resort in San Bernardino County.
The collision was reported about 2:25 p.m. on April 19th to San Bernardino County Sheriff’s deputies. John Deuth, 35, of Menifee, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and or drugs.
The Colorado River Station’s Marine Enforcement Unit responded to the scene where a 24-foot Tracker pontoon boat driven by Deuth had collided a 19-foot Omega boat near a popular beach spot. Police stated that the front of the Tracker boat hit the back of the Omega boat.
Hannah Scott, who was a passenger on the Omega boat, suffered head injuries in the crash. She was transported to Havasu Regional Medical Center for treatment.
Deuth was arrested and taken to the Needles, Calif. jail where he was booked on DUI charges.
