Harlee Ferris, 2, Fatally Struck by Car on Santa Gertrudes Avenue
LOCATION: East Whittier
DATE OF ACCIDENT: Sunday, November 4th
November 5, 2018 – A 2-year-old girl was killed, and her father was seriously injured in a pedestrian accident on Santa Gertrudes Avenue, according to ABC News.
The deceased was identified as Harlee Ferris, and the adult male was identified as 32-year-old Robert Ferris.
At approximately 5:30 p.m., the father and daughter were reportedly crossing Santa Gertrudes Avenue when they were struck by a sedan traveling north on the road. Robert was holding Harlee’s hand and leading her across the street at the time of the crash, officials said.

Primary reports indicated both pedestrians were rushed to hospitals, where Harlee was sadly pronounced dead. Meanwhile, Robert was listed in critical condition due to the severity of injuries sustained in the accident.
Authorities mentioned the driver, identified as 39-year old William Hurlbut IV of Whittier, stopped at the scene and cooperated with investigators. The exact circumstances that led to the incident are still being determined.
