Hawthorne Multi-Vehicle Accident, Interstate 405

Hawthorne, Calif. (August 3, 2023) —  A car accident happened Tuesday afternoon on the Interstate 405 freeway near El Segundo Boulevard in Hawthorne California.

The collision occurred about 3:24 p.m. on August 1st, near El Segundo Boulevard in Los Angeles County according to a California Highway Patrol dispatch.

It was reported that a white Nissan Versa collided other unknown vehicles to cause a eight car traffic collision. Some of the vehicles involved were a red Camaro, white Toyota, a Mercedes Benz, a Toyota Prius and many others that were not identified. The accident caused major blockage in all the lanes of the freeway. The Los Angeles Fire Department was summoned along with the paramedics to arrive and respond to help those that may have been injured due to the crash.

Meanwhile, tow trucks arrived on the scene to remove the damaged vehicles off the 405 Freeway. Investigators are further continuing to work on the case to determine who is at fault for the accident on the Interstate 405, in Hawthorne.
