Several Hurt in DUI Collision Near Eggiman Lane
Amador County, CA (May 23, 2022) – Three passengers–Hayden Edwards, Deonna Bowman, and Casey Butler, all sustained injuries following a suspected DUI car crash that occurred on State Route Highway 88.
The Ledger Dispatch News reported two vehicles collided on the highway just east of Eggiman Lane. Preliminary investigation revealed a westbound 2018 Honda Civic drifted into the eastbound side of SR-88. According to the article published online, the Honda drove directly into the path of a 2000 Chevrolet Tahoe. Both drivers attempted to swerve but still collided head-on into each other.
Shortly after 11:08 p.m., rescue teams arrived at the location. Responding paramedics found three passengers injured in the Honda. Officials identified the victims as 26-year-old Hayden Edwards of Sutter Creek; 26-year-old Deonna Bowman of Volcano; and 30-year-old Casey Butler of Jackson. Medical personnel transported all three patients to Sutter Amador Hospital for treatment of minor to moderate injuries.
Authorities added the driver and passenger of the Chevrolet also sustained injuries in the collision.
Meanwhile, police later arrested the driver of the Honda after he was determined to be intoxicated at the time of the accident. Officers booked the suspect into Amador County Jail for DUI causing bodily injury.
