1 Seriously Injured in Hayward Crash on Interstate 880 Near State Route 92
HAYWARD, CA (October 8, 2021) – At least one was seriously injured after a car crash on the Interstate 880 near State Route 92 in Hayward.
The California Highway Patrol first logged the incident on Thursday morning. Officers reported the accident on October 7 at about 7:19 a.m.
According to CHP, three vehicles collided for an unknown reason in the city of Hayward. They crashed on the northbound Interstate 880, just south of State Route 92.
Multiple Vehicles Collide
The incident log described the two of the vehicles as a silver Toyota Camry and a white utility truck. The Toyota obtained major damage upon impact.
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene and found one person hurt. The victim sustained major injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then rushed the patient to a hospital for treatment. The report did not disclose the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP forced the northbound lanes of the Interstate 880 to shut down near Route 92 following the wreck. The cause of the Hayward crash is still under investigation.
