Pedestrian Killed in Hayward Crash on Interstate 880 Near Warren
HAYWARD, CA (March 11, 2022) – A crash killed a pedestrian on the Interstate 880 near Warren Avenue in Hayward.
According to an article published by the CBS San Francisco, the tragic accident took place on Wednesday night. Officers reported the incident at about 9:45 p.m.
The California Highway Patrol said a vehicle struck a male pedestrian for an unknown reason in Hayward. The driver hit him as he was walking on the northbound Interstate 880, just north of Warren Avenue.

Firefighters along with the paramedics then arrived and found the man down on the ground. He sustained serious injuries a result of the collision.
Medical personnel soon pronounced the patient dead at the scene. His name has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, CHP did not mention if the motorist stopped and stayed at the site after hitting the victim. Officers forced the northbound lanes of the Interstate 880 to shut down following the collision.
The cause of the fatal Hayward pedestrian crash is still under investigation. Anyone with information can call the CHP office at (510)489-1500.
