Pedestrian Killed in Hayward Crash at Tennyson Road and Dickens Avenue
HAYWARD, CA (July 24, 2022) – A crash killed a pedestrian at Tennyson Road and Dickens Avenue in Hayward.
According to The Mercury News and KRON 4 News, the tragic accident took place on Saturday night. Officers reported the collision shortly before 9:30 p.m.
The incident happened on July 23 when a car struck a male pedestrian for an unknown reason in the city of Hayward. The vehicle hit him at the intersection of Tennyson Road and Dickens Avenue.
Man, 45, Hit by Car
Paramedics arrived and then found the 45-year-old man down on the ground. He sustained severe injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel soon pronounced the victim dead at the scene. His name has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, police added that the driver stopped and stayed at the site after hitting the man. Officers forced the area of Tennyson and Dickens to shut down for a time following the accident.
The cause of the fatal Hayward pedestrian crash is still under investigation. Anyone with information can call the police at 510-293-7169.
