At Least 1 Injured in Hit-and-Run Accident on 880 Freeway

January 10, 2019 – An alleged hit-and-run collision resulted in injury Thursday morning on the Interstate 880 Freeway, according to CBS News.
Multi-Vehicle Accident Thursday in Hayward
At approximately 10:30 a.m., a black BMW sedan struck a tanker truck on 880 Freeway near Winton Avenue. Then under unclear circumstances, a third vehicle got involved in the crash and rolled multiple times until it became stuck underneath the truck.
First responders found the driver of the grey sedan trapped in the wreckage. The motorist was briefly extricated before being transported to the hospital in unknown condition.
Authorities added the operator of the truck was unharmed in the accident.
Meanwhile, officials mentioned the driver of the BMW left the scene. No immediate information has been yet released on the hit-and-run suspect.
Further investigation on the case is underway.
