Motorcyclist Struck by Alleged Hit-and-Run Driver on 880 Freeway
LOCATION: Hayward
DATE OF COLLISION: Saturday, March 30th
March 31, 2019 – The California Highway Patrol reported a suspected hit-and-run collision that occurred on the Interstate 880 Freeway at Marina Boulevard off-ramp.
The accident happened on Saturday at approximately 12:40 p.m.
Hit-and-Run Accident in Hayward Saturday
Per CHP dispatch, a motorcycle rider was struck by a vehicle of unspecified built and type in the southbound side of the interstate. The driver of the passenger vehicle apparently failed to stop following the impact, and sped away before police arrived.
Officials mentioned the motorcyclist was left lying down on the roadway. The name of the victim, and their condition at this time have not been disclosed thus far.
No additional details have been yet released. Authorities handling the case continue to identify and locate the hit-and-run suspect at this time.
