Motorcyclist Seriously Injured in Hayward Crash on Interstate 880 Near Route 92
HAYWARD, CA (October 1, 2021) – A motorcyclist was seriously injured after a crash on the Interstate 880 near State Route 92 in Hayward.
The California Highway Patrol dispatch team said the accident took place on Friday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck shortly after 4 p.m. near Winton Avenue.
CHP determined that the rider of a Harley Davidson motorcycle, a gray pickup truck and a third vehicle collided. The three crashed for an unknown reason on the northbound Interstate 880 in Hayward.
Multiple Vehicles Collide
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene, under the State Route 92. They found the motorcyclist who sustained major injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then took the patient to a hospital for treatment. Officials did not release the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP did not mention if the other drivers ended up hurt or if they stopped following the wreck. The cause of the Hayward crash still under investigation.
Officers forced the northbound lanes of the Interstate 880 to shut down near State Route 92 for an hour after the collision.
