Pedestrian Seriously Injured in Hayward Crash on Grove Way Near Meekland
HAYWARD, CA (October 10, 2021) – A pedestrian was seriously injured after a crash on Grove Way near Meekland Avenue in Hayward.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch team, the accident took place early Sunday. Officers reported the incident at about 12:44 a.m.
CHP said a vehicle struck the pedestrian for an unknown reason. The driver hit the victim at 197 Grove Way near Meekland Avenue in Hayward.
The incident log mentioned that officers found two cars at the scene. A Toyota RAV4 obtained rear-end damage and a Range Rover ended up with major damage.
Victim Hit by Car
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene near the Cherryland Park. They attended to the pedestrian who sustained major injuries as a result of the incident.
Medical personnel then took the patient to a hospital for treatment. The report did not release the name and condition of the wounded party at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP did not mention if the motorist stopped and stayed at the site after hitting the victim. Officers forced a stretch of Grove Way to shut down following the collision.
The cause of the Hayward pedestrian crash is still under investigation.
