HAYWARD, California (May 6, 2014) – The drivers of a UPS truck and a white Volkswagen Jetta collided Tuesday morning and were blocking the No. 2 lane of the northbound Interstate 880 Nimitz Freeway near the A Street off ramp, according to a dispatch by the California Highway Patrol.
About 6:26 a.m., CHP officers responded to the 2-vehicle crash involving at least one injured person that required paramedics. The UPS truck collided with the sedan and pulled over about a half mile up the road from where the Volkswagen came to a stop, the report said.
CHP officers are investigating the crash to determine liability for the accident. A report is pending and parties involved will need to request a copy in order to file a claim with insurance.
“Hopefully no one was seriously injured in this crash,” said Attorney James Johnson.
