Hazel Hogan, 93, Killed in Murrieta Crash at Lily and Jefferson Avenues
MURRIETA, CA (August 20, 2021) – Hazel Hogan was killed after a car crash at Lily and Jefferson avenues in Murrieta.
Police identified the 93-year-old Wildomar woman as the victim of the fatal collision which took place on Monday afternoon.
The incident began when Hazel Hogan was a passenger riding a Nissan Versa on northbound Jefferson Avenue in Murrieta. At the same time, a BMW 550i sedan was going west on Lily Avenue.
Police said the BMW then began making a turn onto southbound Jefferson. In the process, the sedan collided with the Nissan in the intersection.
2 Badly injured in Car Collision
Hazel Hogan ended up pinned inside the Nissan as a result of the Murrieta crash. Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene and then extricated her from the wreckage.
Medical personnel rushed the victim to the Inland Valley Medical Center in Wildomar, where she underwent surgery. However, she later died.
My News LA wrote that the accident occurred on August 16 at about 1:40 p.m. Meanwhile, the drivers of the two cars involved sustained moderate injuries upon impact.
The cause of the Murrieta crash is still under investigation.
