Head-on DUI Crash on Vista Way at Brass Lane in Vista

dui crash Vista VISTA, California (May 13, 2016) — Two people were seriously injured Wednesday night in a head-on car DUI crash on West Vista Way at Brass Lane, according to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department.

The crash took place about 11 p.m. when a 20-year-old woman driving a Mitsubishi Eclipse veered over double yellow lines Vista Way into the westbound lanes where the car struck a silver Toyota Camry driven by a 52-year-old woman. A police officer arrived at the scene immediately after can called for paramedics.

Both of the women were trapped in their vehicles following the collision and firefighters came to extricate them before they were taken to Palomar Hospital in Escondido.  The 52-year-old woman suffered a broken hip and the 20-year-old woman had a fractured tibia and fibula.

Police say alcohol was a factor in the crash.
