Car and Van Collide on State Route 299 in Arcata
ARCATA, Calif. (August 9, 2024) — A head-on Arcata crash happened on westbound Highway 299, just east of the northbound entrance to Highway 101 on Friday morning.
The two-vehicle collision occurred at around 9:26 a.m. on August 9th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials reported at least one person was injured after the drivers of a Dodge Challenger sedan and a Mercedes Sprinter van collided.

Meanwhile, paramedics responded to the scene to help those injured including the driver of the Dodge who was down in the field, but apparently survived the crash. Both vehicles had major front-end damage and required tow trucks.
It’s unknown how many people were hurt at this time or what led up to the accident.
