Wrong-way Driver Crash on 5 Freeway in Natomas
NATOMAS, Calif. (Jan. 1, 2019) — A wrong-way driver caused a minor-injury collision early Tuesday morning on the Interstate 5 Freeway in Natomas, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash took place about 2:20 a.m. in the north Sacramento area.
The southbound driver entered the northbound lanes of the Interstate 5 Freeway and was driving in the fast lane. Another driver who saw what happened called 911 to report it.
The vehicle stopped near the center divider and then a small black sedan collided head on with the wrong-way driver. One of the vehicles came to rest sideways in the slow lane.
There were undisclosed minor injuries in the crash. It’s unknown if alcohol and or drugs was involved.
