Head-on Car Accident on Gas Point Road in Cottonwood
COTTONWOOD, Calif. (May 29, 2025) — A head-on car accident happened early Wednesday morning on Gas Point Road near Cottonwood, resulting in minor injuries, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
Minor Injuries Reported in Head-On Collision on Gas Point Road
The crash occurred around 7:30 a.m. on May 29th near the 20400 block of Gas Point Road. Officials say a white sedan swerved into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with a silver GMC Yukon. Both vehicles were blocking the roadway, prompting authorities to temporarily close down both lanes.
Emergency crews responded quickly, and both drivers were found out of their vehicles. CHP confirmed the incident involved minor injuries, and one lane was later opened with one-way traffic control in place until tow services arrived.
Premier Towing and J&L Anderson were called to the scene to assist with vehicle removal. PG&E was also notified after one of the vehicles struck a utility pole, though no damage was reported.
By 8:59 a.m., all lanes were reopened and traffic had returned to normal. CHP continues to investigate the cause of the crash.
