Head-on Car Accident on Kiefer Boulevard in Rancho Cordova

SACRAMENTO COUNTY, Calif. (August 31, 2026) — A head-on car accident involving two vehicles occurred Sunday on Kiefer Boulevard in the landfill area of Rancho Cordova, resulting in minor injuries, according to the California Highway Patrol. The incident was reported on August 30, 2026, at approximately 3:06 p.m. in East Sacramento County.

The crash involved two vehicles, including a gray 2016 Toyota Tacoma pickup with a single rear plate, which was taken from the scene by Central Valley Tow. Initial reports categorized the incident as a major injury collision; however, it was later reclassified to involve minor injuries. Emergency services were dispatched, with units arriving on the scene by 3:35 p.m.

The collision was reportedly a head-on crash, prompting a response from both the CHP and fire services. Officer Giang was the responding officer, and the Toyota Tacoma was subsequently removed from the roadway.

Authorities are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision and are seeking any witnesses who may have additional information.
