Fatal Traffic Collision at American and Lake Avenue
Fresno County, CA (April 25, 2022) – One person died, and another suffered injuries following a car accident that occurred in the area of American and Lake Avenue.
According to FOX26 News, 45-year-old Eliseo Vasquez was driving a vehicle heading east on American Avenue. For reasons still under investigation, Vasquez allowed his car to veer into the westbound lane. Officials said the wrong-way motorist crashed head-on into a westbound car.
The catastrophic incident took place on April 23, Saturday.
Woman Hospitalized After Car Accident in Fresno County
Shortly after 8:30 p.m., rescue teams arrived at the location. First responders found a male driver and a female driver both with injuries. The article published online mentioned the 45-year-old woman driving the other car sustained major trauma. Given the condition of the patient, a Skylife airlifted the patient to Community Regional Medical Center. Officers continue to withhold the name of the victim pending confirmation.
Authorities mentioned Vasquez sadly passed away at the scene.
At this time, detectives continue to investigate several unclear factors surrounding the fatal car crash at American and Lake Avenue.
