Two-Vehicle Injury Crash at Fallon and Fairview Roads

HOLLISTER, Calif. (August 20, 2026) — A head-on collision involving two SUVs blocked both sides of Fallon Road at Fairview Road Thursday morning in Hollister, San Benito County, according to California Highway Patrol dispatch information.

The crash was reported on August 20th at approximately 8:08 a.m. when CHP received reports of a collision involving a light-blue Honda CR-V and a gray Honda SUV. Dispatchers reported that the vehicles were involved in a head-on crash and were blocking both directions of the roadway.

Witnesses reported hearing a loud boom before the crash was reported. Both drivers were still inside their vehicles, and CHP initially was unable to determine whether anyone was injured.

Emergency personnel were dispatched to the scene, with firefighters reported to be approximately three minutes away at about 8:17 a.m. Tow trucks were also requested to remove the damaged vehicles.

By approximately 8:36 a.m., both lanes were reported open, indicating that the roadway had been cleared.

The circumstances surrounding the collision, including what caused the two vehicles to collide head-on and whether anyone was injured, were not immediately available.

Drivers traveling through the area were urged to use caution while emergency crews worked at the scene.
