Head-on Collision Wentworth Springs Road in Georgetown

EL DORADO COUNTY, Calif., (Oct. 7, 2026) — Two people were injured in a collision in Georgetown Tuesday on Wentworth Springs Road between a white pickup truck and a silver Honda CR-V.

The major injury car accident was reported at approximately 4:08 p.m. on October 6th at the location of 7600 Wentworth Springs Road near the Georgetown Ranger Station, just north of Placerville. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) indicated that the collision was a head-on crash. Emergency services were promptly dispatched to the scene.

Upon arrival, first responders determined that both parties sustained significant injuries. One individual was transported to Sutter Roseville Medical Center by ambulance, while the other was airlifted to a medical facility via air ambulance due to the severity of their injuries.

The roadway was cleared and reopened by 5:28 p.m. after initial closures to facilitate emergency response efforts.

Authorities are actively investigating the circumstances leading up to the crash. The CHP has requested any witnesses to come forward with information that may assist in the ongoing investigation.
