2-Vehicle Car Accident on I-405 Freeway Near Getty Center
BRENTWOOD, Calif. (July 11, 2024) – A wrong-way driver in a pickup truck crashed head on into another motorist early Thursday on the Interstate 405 Freeway near the Getty Center in Brentwood.
The two-vehicle crash occurred around 2:30 a.m. on July 11th in the northbound lanes of the I-405 freeway near Getty Center Drive, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officers report the pickup driver was traveling northbound in a southbound lane when it collided with at least one other motorist.
One person became trapped in a vehicle, but was rescued by firefighters from the Los Angeles Fire Department. It’s unknown how many people were hurt or whether they were hospitalized.
Both of the vehicles had major front-end damage following the collision.
Investigators are working on the case and will determine fault and whether any charges will be filed.
