Angeles Crest Highway Collision | One Vehicle Overturned

LA CAÑADA FLINTRIDGE, Calif. (June 9, 2025) — A head-on crash on Angeles Crest Highway early Monday morning in La Cañada Flintridge resulted in significant traffic disruption and one car overturned onto its roof, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).

The two-vehicle collision occurred just before 6:50 a.m. near mile marker 29.76, approximately three miles north of La Cañada. CHP dispatchers were first notified of the incident as a two-vehicle traffic collision involving a black BMW 323 sedan and a white or beige Ford Escape.

According to CHP logs, the BMW overturned and came to rest on its roof, blocking westbound lanes of the winding mountain highway. The Ford Escape reportedly sustained heavy front-end damage, including issues with the front axle and engine.

Emergency responders, including Los Angeles County Fire and CHP units, arrived quickly at the scene. At least one person was injured and transported to a hospital, but there are no further details.

Tow trucks from Jon’s Towing and M&M Action Towing were dispatched to remove the damaged vehicles. Traffic in both directions was significantly affected during the morning commute as authorities worked to clear the scene.

As of 7:18 a.m., lanes remained blocked with cleanup and recovery efforts ongoing.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation, and CHP has not yet confirmed whether speed, distraction, or road conditions played a role.
