2-Vehicle Collision Near Carmel High School on Highway 1
CARMEL BY THE SEA, Calif. (Oct. 31, 2024) — A head-on crash happened Thursday on Cabrillo Highway 1 at Morse Drive in Carmel-by-the-Sea near Carmel High School.
The collision occurred on northbound State Route 1 around 12:13 p.m. on Oct. 31st, according to the California Highway Patrol report.
CHP officials responded and located a blue 1996 Toyota Camry with major traffic damage and a white SUV involved in the collision. Debris was scattered across the roadway and the Toyota also ran into a power pole and it was sheared off.
“No one was getting out of the vehicles,” the report stated at 12:15 p.m.
Paramedics responded and possibly transported two people with injuries to a hospital. One of the injured with the last name Colen had complaints of chest pain, neck pain, and a left knee injury. The other person with the last name Sanchez complained of lower abdomenal pain.
Investigators are working to determine fault for the crash on Highway 1 in Carmel-by-the-Sea.
