Fatal Car Accident in Sacramento County
MATHER, Calif. (Nov. 14, 2024) — One person is dead after a head-on crash Thursday morning on Excelsior Road and Westerly Drive in the Mather area of Sacramento County.
The fatal two-vehicle collision occurred around 8:47 a.m. on Nov. 14th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials reported a driver in a white Tesla was seen driving recklessly at speeds of up to 100 mph prior to colliding head-on with a driver in a silver Ford Fusion sedan.
The Tesla caught on fire and CHP officials reported the silver sedan overturned.
The male driver who was in the silver sedan was reportedly screaming for help. The motorist was trapped and the door would not open.
Paramedics responded to help those injured and firefighters came to extricate the trapped motorist.
Unfortunately, the driver in the Tesla reportedly died at the scene and the second driver survived with only minor injuries.
Investigators are working on the case and will determine if charges will be filed.
