Major Injury, Head-on Crash in Gilroy
GILROY, Calif. (March 25, 2022) — A head-on crash in Gilroy happened Friday on Highway 101 at the overcrossing for State Route 25 between two vehicles.
The collision occurred about 6:36 a.m. on March 25th between a silver Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck and a gray Mitsubishi Eclipse, according to the California Highway Patrol.
One of the vehicles reportedly veered into the path of the other motorist, police said. The vehicles crashed on the northbound side of the highway near the off ramp to SR-25.
At least one person suffered major injuries in the Gilroy head-on crash. Paramedics responded to the scene and transported the injured to a hospital for further treatment. The report does not provide the name, age or gender.
Tow trucks responded to remove both vehicles with major front-end damage.
Investigators are working on the cause of the Gilroy crash and liability.
