Two-Vehicle Collision on Highway 101 in Laytonville

MENDOCINO COUNTY, Calif., (Sept. 11, 2026) — A head-on traffic crash involving major injuries took place Thursday on Highway 101 at Laytonville Dos Rios Road in Mendocino County.

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported that the collision occurred on Sept. 10th at approximately 3:44 p.m. The incident involved a silver Mercedes and a silver Toyota Corolla, resulting in significant injuries. According to the CHP, one party sustained a leg injury in the crash.

Emergency services were dispatched to the scene shortly after the accident to help those involved, the report said. McCaffery’s Towing was called to help remove the vehicles, which were blocking both lanes of traffic.

The investigation into the cause of the collision continues. The CHP is urging any witnesses to the crash to come forward with information that could assist in their investigation.
