Head-on Crash Highway 12, Oakmont Drive in Santa Rosa

2-Vehicle Collision on Eastbound SR-12

SANTA ROSA, Calif. (April 7, 2025) — A head-on crash between two vehicles happened Monday afternoon on State Route 12 or Highway 12 just east of Oakmont Drive in Santa Rosa.

The accident, which occurred at approximately 12:50 PM, involved a gray Mazda MX-5 sports car and a red Chevrolet Bolt, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The collision caused both eastbound and westbound lanes to be blocked, leading to traffic congestion in the area.

Emergency responders including CHP officers responded to the scene, and tow trucks were called to remove the damaged vehicles. There were no serious injuries reported on scene.

The highway remained partially blocked for a short period while authorities worked to clear the scene and reopen the lanes.

By 2:17 PM, the incident was cleared and traffic resumed as usual.

The crash remains under investigation by the CHP to determine fault.
