Multi-vehicle Crash on State Route 160
SACRAMENTO COUNTY, Calif. (August 17, 2023) — A head-on crash on Highway 160 happened Thursday morning near Victory Highway on Sherman Island in Sacramento County.
The multi-vehicle collision occurred around 10:05 a.m. on August 17th, just north of the Antioch Bridge, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials reported the drivers of a black Cadillac Escalade, a truck and a third vehicle were involved. At least one person became trapped in a vehicle.
Paramedics and firefighters with the Sacramento and Solano county fire departments responded and extricated at least one person. Authorities closed down the highway in both directions. Also, the CHP reported there was one person with major injuries who was airlifted to a trauma center.
Also, a dog from the person’s vehicle was taken to the Bradshaw shelter.
Tow trucks removed the damaged vehicles and investigators are working on the case to determine fault for the collision.
