2-Vehicle Crash on Highway 99 at Atwater Boulevard On-ramp
ATWATER, Calif. (May 25, 2021) — A Highway 99 head-on crash happened Tuesday morning in Merced County at the Atwater Boulevard on ramp.
The crash happened about 8:24 a.m. on May 25th between two motorists, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The drivers of a black Honda and a white Hyundai Tucson SUV collided. It’s unknown at this time how many people were hurt in the Highway 99 head-on crash.

Additionally, the CHP report described the crash as a head-on collision, but provided no further details. Meanwhile, one of the motorists managed to get out of their vehicle after the crash, but the cars remained in the roadway blocking all traffic lanes.
Tow trucks responded to remove the vehicles.
Finally, investigators seek to determine the cause of the Highway 99 head-on crash and liability.
