Head-on Crash Highway 99, Eager Road East in Yuba City

YUBA CITY, Calif. (Jan. 7, 2026) — A head-on collision in Yuba City involving two vehicles happened at a Highway 99 on-ramp early Wednesday morning at Eager Road East, authorities said.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash was reported shortly before 6:50 a.m. on Jan. 7th at the on-ramp to SR-99 North. Initial reports indicated a black Nissan Maxima and a white pickup truck were involved in a head-on collision.

The Yuba County Sheriff’s Office and CHP responded to the scene, where one occupant was reported trapped inside a vehicle while emergency crews assessed injuries. At least one party remained inside a vehicle during the initial response.

By approximately 6:58 a.m., authorities reported that the roadway was completely blocked due to the crash. Both vehicles sustained major front-end damage, and tow services were requested for two disabled vehicles.

The extent of injuries has not yet been confirmed, and it was not immediately clear how many people were transported to local hospitals. No fatalities have been reported.

The cause of the collision remains under investigation. Motorists were advised to avoid the area and seek alternate routes while crews worked to clear the scene.
