Semi-truck, Car Crash on State Route 99
YUBA CITY, Calif. (June 17, 2024) — A head-on crash involving a car and a semi-truck happened early Monday on Highway 99 and Oswald Road in Yuba City.
The two-vehicle collision occurred on the SR-99 at around 5:10 a.m. on June 17th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials reported a driver in a black or grey Hyundai Sonata and a semi-truck collided when one of them veered into the path of the other one.
The semi-truck jackknifed and veered off the roadway and crashed into a ditch.
Paramedics from the Sutter County Fire Department responded to help at least one person who had injuries from the crash, but there are no further details.
This intersection is known to be a dangerous one due to semi-trucks crossing Highway 99. The city has plans to fix it, but not soon enough. Last year, Steven Tadeo, 30, of Westwood, California, died in a collision with a semi-truck here.
Investigators are working to determine fault for the crash on Highway 99 in Yuba City.
