Head-on Crash in Castaic on Telegraph Road (State Route 126), La Falda Way

Two-Vehicle Head-On Crash Disrupts SR-126 Near Castaic
CASTAIC, Calif. (Dec. 23, 2025) — A head-on crash involving two vehicles temporarily shut down lanes on Telegraph Road or State Route 126 early Tuesday morning near Piru and Castaic, authorities said.
The crash was reported shortly after 5:14 a.m. on westbound SR-126 just west of La Falda Way, according to California Highway Patrol dispatch logs. CHP officers identified the incident as a two-vehicle traffic collision with at least one person injured.
Emergency responders, including the Ventura County Fire Department, were dispatched to the scene. One vehicle was reported partially blocking a travel lane, and at least one occupant was initially unable to exit a vehicle, prompting additional response.
During the investigation and cleanup, both eastbound and westbound lanes were impacted. Traffic was temporarily closed as Caltrans crews worked to clear debris and gravel from the roadway. CHP logs also indicated a secondary traffic collision occurred in the area while lanes were being cleared.
By about 7:07 a.m., at least one westbound lane had reopened, and traffic was moving through the area.
The extent of injuries was not immediately available, and no information on the identities of those involved was released. The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
