Head-on Crash on Bear Valley Road, Balsam Avenue in Victorville
Vince Murcio, 18, Two Others Seriously Injured in Car, Semi-Truck Crash
VICTORVILLE, Calif. (July 21, 2026) — Three people were critically injured last Wednesday in a head-on crash involving a Ford Mustang and a tractor-trailer on Bear Valley Road at Balsam Avenue in Victorville.
The collision occurred around 3:54 a.m. on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, according to the Sheriff’s Department.
The drivers of a white Ford Mustang and a red tractor-trailer hauling forklifts collided in the westbound No. 1 lane of Bear Valley Road, police said.
Three people in the Mustang were severely injured and the car sustained catastrophic front-end and all-over damage in the crash.
Vince Murcio, 18, from Phelan, was driving the Mustang with two passengers, and all three sustained major injuries. He was transported to Providence Saint Mary Medical Center before being airlifted to Loma Linda University Medical Center. He remains hospitalized with a life-threatening traumatic brain injury and other injuries, according to a GoFundMe page created for him. An Apple Valley man was taken to Desert Valley Medical Center due to major injuries but was then airlifted to Loma Linda University Medical Center. Meanwhile, a Pinon Hills woman in the back seat of the Mustang had major injuries and was transported to Providence Saint Mary Medical Center.
The Hesperia man driving the tractor-trailer truck had been heading westbound on Bear Valley Road when the truck collided with the eastbound Ford Mustang. It’s unknown why the two vehicles collided at this time.
The Victorville Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) is handling the investigation.
It’s unknown if alcohol or drugs were factors in the collision.
