SANTA BARBARA COUNTY (March 30, 2017)- According to the California Highway Patrol, a head-on collision took place Thursday afternoon on Highway 166.+-
CHP officials arrived at the scene of a two possibly three-vehicle crash which occurred at 12:42 p.m. precisely.
The vehicle involved included a red semi-truck with a tanker attached and a Chevy sedan.
The Santa Barbara Sheriffs Department was called to the scene to assist with the investigation.
Authorities indicated that the driver of the sedan, a 24-year-old woman, was moderate to seriously injured and transported immediately from the scene to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital.
Meanwhile, the driver of the semi-truck was uninjured while no details were provided regarding the status of the other truck driver.
The collision remains under investigation at this time as the cause of the accident remains to be known.
