Head-on Crash Ortega Highway (SR-74) in Lake Elsinore

LAKE ELSINORE, Calif. (May 13, 2025) — A head-on crash on Ortega Highway (SR-74) happened Tuesday morning in Lake Elsinore, near the Lookout Point Roadhouse.

The two-vehicle collision occurred at 10:03 a.m. on May 13th, according to the California Highway Patrol.

CHP officials reported the drivers of a green Toyota RAV4 SUV and a white Toyota Corolla sedan were involved. The vehicles were blocking the roadway and paramedics responded to help those injured.

It’s unknown if anyone was hospitalized following the collision, but an ambulance was on scene. Both vehicles were towed from the highway due to heavy damage.

Investigators are working to determine fault for the Ortega Highway crash in Lake Elsinore.
