Suspected DUI Crash Near Kecks Corner on Highway 46
LOST HILLS, Calif. (Feb. 8, 2022) — A head-on crash involving a wrong-way driver on Paso Robles Highway 46 happened Tuesday afternoon just west of Kecks Road and Kecks Coroner.
The suspected DUI collision happened about 3:24 p.m. on Feb. 8th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The drivers of a blue or turquoise Saturn and a white Mazda 6 collided after one of the motorists drove the wrong way in traffic lanes. A woman traveling with her dog in one of the vehicles allegedly had an open container in her hand and smelled of alcohol. She became trapped in her vehicle following the crash and required transport to the hospital.
The Mazda had its airbags deployed, but its driver did not appear to be hurt.
Meanwhile, paramedics with the Lost Hills Fire Department responded to the scene to take the “intoxicated” driver to the hospital.
Authorities are investigating the Paso Robles Highway 46 crash and will determine fault as well as if any charges will be made.
