Two-Vehicle, Head-on Crash Highway 46 in Shandon
SHANDON, Calif. (July 11, 2022) — A head-on crash happened Monday afternoon at the junction of State Route Highway 46, just west of Highway 41, just west of the James Dean Memorial in Shandon.
The collision occurred about 3:10 p.m. on July 11th, in San Luis Obispo County, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials reported a Tioga motorhome towing a Honda Accord collided with a van due to unknown circumstances.
The report stated there was debris scattered all over the roadway. The location where the crash happened is known to be dangerous.
Paramedics responded and located at least three people with injuries. One of them had a severe laceration to the left knee and another had a rib injury and arm lacerations.
Meanwhile, police reported the motorhome had significant damage and required a heavy-duty tow truck.
Investigators are working on the case and will determine fault for the crash.
