Fatal Car Accident on State Route 299
REDDING, Calif. (Oct. 25, 2023) — A fatal head-on crash happened Wednesday on Highway 299 near Lewis Lane in the Bella Vista area, just northeast of Redding.
The two-vehicle collision occurred at around 2:01 p.m. on Oct. 25th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials reported the drivers of a white Jeep SUV and a dark grey Hyundai sedan were involved. The airbags in both vehicle were deployed and the cars were blocking the eastbound lanes, the report said.
Paramedics responded to help those involved, but sadly at least one person died after the crash.
Tow trucks removed both of the vehicles due to heavy damage.
Investigators are working on the case to determine fault for the head-on crash on Highway 299.
