Hit-and-run Crash on US Highway 50 in Kyburz
KYBURZ, Calif. (Jan. 4, 2024) — At least one person was injured in a head-on crash in Kyburz on Thursday morning on US Highway 50 also known as El Dorado Freeway, just west of 34 Milestone Tract.
The multi-vehicle crash occurred at around 10:33 a.m. on Jan. 4th, according to the California Highway Patrol dispatch.
CHP officials reported the drivers of a red Subaru SUV, a black Toyota Corolla and a black sedan were involved in the collision. At least two of the vehicles collided head-on due to unknown circumstances.
One of the motorists became trapped in a vehicle and the other allegedly left the crash scene, but was later found in cabin number two at a nearby lodge, according to police.
Meanwhile, the California Department of Fire responded to the scene scene to help at least one person hurt in the crash and transport them to Sutter Medical Center.
The investigation into the crash on US Highway 50 in Kyburz is ongoing.
