2 Children Killed in Collision at Alvin Avenue and Blosser Road
Santa Maria, CA (November 7, 2022) – Police arrested 30-year-old Hector Romero Escobar in relation with a deadly car accident that occurred Sunday in the area of West Alvin Avenue and North Blosser Road.
According to Santa Maria Times News, two vehicles collided at the intersection in Santa Maria. Earlier reports indicated the force from the impact ejected three juveniles from one car. Officials said helicopter responded to the crash site and airlifted the three injured children to a hospital for treatment. In a recent update, authorities sadly confirmed two patients sadly succumbed to their trauma and passed away. The fatal victims were only identified as a 2-year-old, and a 10-year-old.
The article published online mentioned the parents of the children also sustained injuries in the crash. The names of the adult parties hurt in the collision; and their condition at this time have not been revealed thus far.
DUI Suspect Arrested in Santa Maria Deadly Car Accident
Detectives said the driver and sole occupant of the other car involved in the wreck showed signs of intoxication during the investigation process. Given that, police arrested Hector Romero Escobar; and booked him into Santa Barbara County Jail on suspicion of non-negligent manslaughter; and felony driving under the influence of alcohol.
The local Police Department Traffic Bureau continue to investigate the catastrophic incident.
