FRESNO, California (January 9, 2015) — A pack of four pit bull dogs attacked a Fresno man Wednesday, biting his leg as he attempted to fight them off, according to report by NBC News.
Hector Marroquin was able to dial 911 on his cell phone while he was bitten by the dogs in his neighborhood. The animals had escaped their owner’s yard and the incident was captured on video from the air by a cameraman on the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office’s Eagle One helicopter. The helicopter arrived before police on the ground were able to come to the man’s rescue.
Marroquin says this is not the first time the animals have threatened him, but the first time he has been bitten. The extent of Mr. Marroquin’s injuries was not disclosed in the article.
The owner of the dogs was cited and fined and the animals were taken by Liberty Animal Control where they may be euthanized.
“Hopefully Mr. Marroquin gets the care he needs for a full recovery,” said Attorney James Johnson. “The owner of these vicious dogs may be held liable for his injuries and losses.”
