Woman Killed in 2-Vehicle Crash Identified
FRESNO, Calif. (Sept. 6, 2023) — Helena Rhinehart, 37, of Clovis, died in a two-vehicle rollover accident on Highway 168, just south of Ashlan Avenue early Tuesday morning in Fresno.
The two-vehicle collision occurred around 3:15 a.m. and resulted in both vehicles overturning, according to the California Highway Patrol report.
A 23-year-old Fresno man driving in a maroon 2007 Dodge Charger was traveling eastbound on State Route 168 allegedly lost control of his car and rear-ended a white 4-door 2015 Nissan Altima. The impact caused both vehicles to rollover and the woman driving the Nissan suffered major injuries. Both motorists became trapped in their vehicles until firefighters arrived and extricated them.
Paramedics transported the woman to Community Regional Medical Center where she later died. The Fresno County Sheriff Coroner identified her as Helena Rhinehart.
Meanwhile, the man driving the Dodge was also taken to a hospital due to major injuries from the collision, the report said.
