HEMET (March 8, 2017)- According to The Press Enterprise, a pedestrian died following a hit-and-run Tuesday evening at the intersection of Florida Avenue and Mayflower Avenue.
Police officials responded to the scene of the collision which took place at 6:30 p.m.
Upon arriving, authorities located a pedestrian victim lying in the middle of the road severely hurt in and out of conscious.
As per the article , 66-year-old Daniel Silva was walking along Florida Avenue when he was struck by a white SUV. The Hemet man then succumbed to his injuries .
Meanwhile, the driver involved did not stop to render aid and fled the scene. Police reported that 42-year-old Montez Landing turned himself and was arrested on suspicion of felony hit-and-run. However, the Hemet man was released the same day after posting bail.
Hemet PD are currently investigating the incident. Anyone with information regarding the hit-and-run suspect or vehicle is encouraged to call the Hemet Police Department at (951) 76502400.
