Deceased ID’d as Marcos Zaferino-Nabor, Isaias Guerrero Jr., and David Olivarez
HEMET, California (April 3, 2016) – Three were dead and three others were injured in a head-on collision early Sunday on westbound Florida Avenue, also known as Highway 74, according to The Press Enterprise. (map)
Coroner’s Office identified the deceased parties as 25-year-old Marcos Zaferino-Nabor, 26-year-old Isaias Guerrero Jr., and 18-year-old David Olivarez. All from Anza.
As per the article, police said Zaferino-Nabor was driving a silver Ford sedan at a high rate of speed east on Florida Avenue when he for an unknown reason he veered into the westbound lane near Merilyn Street about 1:35 a.m.
The Ford then crashed head-on into a black GMC SUV which was going about 40 mph at the time.
Three people in the Ford died at the scene while the fourth passenger was hospitalized.
Police added that the two occupants in the SUV were also transported to the hospital with unspecified injuries. The three wounded parties are expected to survive.
Alcohol is being considered as a factor in incident as empty alcohol containers were found inside the Ford. The investigation is ongoing.
