1 Dead, 2 Injured Cathedral City Crash Mountain View Road
CATHEDRAL CITY, Calif. (May 9, 2018) — Henry Dookie, 83, of Desert Hot Springs died and two people were injured in a head-on collision Monday night between two motorists on Mountain View and Varner roads, according to the Riverside County Sheriff Coroner.
The collision took place about 8:50 p.m. when Dookie reportedly was driving his Cadillac and veered into opposing traffic. His vehicle collided head-on with a Plymouth that was headed southbound. A Honda avoided the crash, but went off the roadway and struck a dirt embankment.
Dookie died of his injuries at the scene and the two passengers who were in the Plymouth were transported by ambulance to a hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
